OUR MISSION
The Colorado Runners Association (CRA) is a not-for-profit organization hosting activities, educating and inspiring Coloradans to lead active, healthy lifestyles focusing on walking and running as the principle form of daily moderate physical activity along with education for healthy nutritional choices to change their health.
OUR VISION
The Colorado Runners Association (CRA) will advocate the sports through public outreach, partnerships, social networking, community involvement and promotion of existing organizations to educate Coloradans with the life-long health benefits of living active, healthy lifestyles. The CRA marketplace of resources will offer individuals and groups the ability to connect and grow the Colorado running and walking community to enhance active, healthy lifestyles through the state of Colorado.
OUR CORE FOCUS
• Raising the awareness and sense of ease of running by educating people about the benefits for their own health and wellness; inspiring them to change their lifestyle and appreciate Colorado's open spaces.
• Partner with local companies to demonstrate the health and wellness benefits of running for their employees, which should result in a healthier workforce, positive employee morale, lower insurance rates and greater productivity.
• Collaborate with schools, local companies and civic organizations seeking to develop running and walking related fitness programs or fund raising events.
• Race Directors: Organizing races can be a formidable task, CRA will provide Race Directors with the resources necessary to make this process more efficient: race management, budgeting, business plan, event promotion, and race resources (permits, insurance etc)
• Vendors: Finding an effective marketing channel for the running community as a whole can be a daunting task. CRA will provide vendors greater access to runners by exposing the CRA running community to the resources available in the state and allow the vendors to go directly to members with special promotions and discounts.
• Running and training clubs can be a valuable asset to all levels of runners; the ability to find a club that fits a person's needs is sometimes very difficult. CRA will provide running clubs exposure to all levels of runner and locations. This is to help facilitate the runner-club relationship and make sure the core mission of the club matches that of the new member.
• CRA will host an enthusiastic Runners Convention with the purpose of bringing together a marketplace of ideas and experts for runners, walkers and race directors. It's a one-stop shopping and learning event on all things related to sport of running, Colorado races, products and services.
• A dynamic and interactive website will be the foundation by which CRA communicates with and engages its members. It will simplify the pre-existing running resources on the Web; ultimately giving members more time to RUN FREE and LIVE WELL!
